wireless printers connect to a print server that connects to the router network. depending, you might need to buy a print server. if you are going to set up the printer next to the desktop area and just want to print to the printer from the desktop and laptop you can just set up the printer to desktop (like with a USB or paralle, or wired to the router) and share it, that way your laptop can print to the printer with out having to be physically connected.

A printer with just “Built in wireless printing” will work just fine for your particular setup. You will need to setup the wireless printer to work wirelessly directly with the wireless router, that way all devices will have access to the printer through the router which they are already setup to work with. You will need to install the correct printer driver & install the printer on each computer and direct them to the printer’s IP address or Host Name, then you will be able to send prints from both.

Wired networking would also work fine if you wanted. The printer would need to have a network port and be wired directly to the router with an ethernet cable and it would also need the other things done as well that I listed in the previous paragraph to set it up on all the computers.

The wireless route will work great to avoid cables and be able to put the printer wherever you want it.

Be sure better?

Taught my friend Chuck how to use his new(old) table top press. He got a good machine, and after we leveled the platen, installed new rollers and oiled it up, we got some really nice prints! He was so happy and excited. I love it!
