The desktop computer at my house just got hooked up to a new printer. Before we got the new printer my laptop was able to print things from the desktops printer with no wires. Now with the new printer it does not print from my laptop. When i go to “add a printer” it will find the printer i need to hook up to but it will say it is not connecting. Try installing or reinstalling the software for the new printer on your laptop. It sounds like your laptop isn’t part of the “network” that the printer recognzes.

You’ll need to make sure that “File and Printer” sharing is enabled on your network connection of your desktop with the printer. After that, you’ll need to right-mouse click on the printer and select Sharing and share the printer on the network.
